Maximizing Your Anonymity
The technology provides a strong baseline for privacy, but your operational security (OpSec) is what makes it truly effective. Follow these best practices to achieve the highest level of anonymity.
1. Use a New Wallet for Withdrawals
This is the most critical rule. Never withdraw funds to an address with a prior transaction history. Withdrawing to an existing wallet (like your main wallet or an exchange account) immediately links your "anonymous" funds back to your identity.
Action: Always generate a brand-new Solana address in your wallet for every single withdrawal.
2. Be Patient & Randomize Timing
Do not deposit and withdraw in quick succession. Automated chain analysis tools can use timing to correlate transactions.
Action: Wait a variable and non-obvious amount of time between depositing and withdrawing. The longer you wait and the more deposits that enter the pool after yours, the larger your "anonymity set" becomes, and the stronger your privacy.
3. Protect Your Network Identity (IP Address)
Your on-chain activity may be private, but your internet service provider can see the websites you visit.
Action: Use a trusted, no-logs VPN (Virtual Private Network) to mask your IP address. For an even higher level of protection, access Gone.WTF through the Tor Browser.
4. Manage Browser Fingerprinting
Modern browsers can be "fingerprinted" based on your unique combination of screen resolution, fonts, and extensions.
Action: Use a privacy-focused browser like Brave (with its built-in privacy shields) or a separate browser profile with minimal extensions when interacting with privacy tools.
By combining these practices, you create multiple layers of security that make it practically impossible to link your identity to your transactions.
